Unfortunately we can not accept any alteration request for wedding dates until the end of July 2025. We are very nearly full for August and September too. We may have space in our ‘Out of hours’ service; The charge for this service is Time + Half as the work will be completed outside of usual working hours. Whether you’ve purchased your gown with The Bridal Atelier, or elsewhere, most wedding dresses will require some alterations. After nearly a decade of working our magic on our Brides’ wedding dresses, there are not many bridal designers, or many alterations situations we haven’t come across. We hope that our client reviews speak for the quality of our work and the love we have for our craft. If you would like to book your alterations fitting appointment, we recommend coming in about 8/6 weeks before your wedding date to ensure the alterations we make will be accurate to your body shape right before your wedding day. You are, of course, welcome to come in sooner if you’re ready to go. We have a three/ four week turn around time on our alterations, which ensures that your dress is ready in good time before your wedding day. And don’t forget to bring your wedding shoes to each appointment!‘

Please note that we get fully booked for external alterations months, sometimes a whole year in advance, so please book as soon as possible. Once we are at capacity we may be able to accommodate out- of – hours alterations which are charged at ‘time and a half’, as we will be using evenings and weekends in order to complete the work on your dress. We will always advise before your appointment if this is the case and as with all alterations, we provide a quote before proceeding with any work. Alterations appointments can be booked between Tuesday- Friday 9.30- 5pm. Unfortunately we can not accommodate Saturdays.
A final quote will be given at your fitting, once the dress has been assessed and the alterations discussed. There is a £50 consultation fee for assessing a dress, which will be waivered if you proceed with your alterations. This fee covers the hour of our time, and expert advice given on the fit of your dress if you choose to go no further.

‘Full Alterations’ (In short: Fitting around the body and taking up the hems) we recommend budgeting £250- £450. The majority of our alterations fit within this price bracket, however we price fairly and accordingly, dress by dress depending on the time we know it will take. We take great pride and care with our alterations, respectfully staying true to your dresses original design and integrity, and never cutting corners.
