* About The Bridal Atelier *

Wedding Dress Shop in Brighton

* Where it all started… *

After graduating with first class honours in fashion design, owner Roxy worked in London’s couture scene for Giles Deacon (Pippa Middleton’s wedding dress designer), learning more about the world of handcrafting haute couture pieces. Alongside this, working as a stylist on photoshoots was a valuable way of learning the science behind crafting beautiful and successful looks.

After moving back to Brighton, and realising that the good people of East Sussex don’t wear a huge amount of couture, the bridal industry offered a great way to put all these skills to use. Once the perfect boutique premises was secured in 2016, Roxy initially worked as the ‘head bridal seamstress’ for many local bridal shops, altering dresses from a wide range of designers. This was alongside some very special bespoke orders, where the dress would be made from scratch, in collaboration with the bride.

When Roxy’s favourite bridal designer became available to new stockists, it was an easy decision to snap them up and be able to offer the entire start-to-finish package, all in house for our own brides.

* A decade on and we’ve never looked back *

The word ‘Atelier’ in our name is not always understood (it’s French for an artist or designers ‘workshop’) but it is at the very heart of what we offer at The Bridal Atelier.

Whether it’s your wedding dress alterations or a more bespoke offering, our approach is always to focus on the perfect fit of that one incredibly special dress, usually the only piece of couture a woman will wear in her life time. It gives us the unique ability to really look after our brides the whole way through, and make the experience stress-free and unforgettable.
